Hi! I'm Ailish
I am and Essex based Artist and Art teacher. Over the last 5 years or so I have focussed mostly on depicting Essex wildlife. I have started this blog to share both my process as an artist but also the the beneficial effects of being creative. As well as sharing what I have been doing I hope to share some of the techniques and methods I use and to demystify some of the challenges around producing art.

Since I qualified as an Art teacher over 22 years ago I have taught in primary and secondary schools and in adult education and run workshops for both adults and children and the thing which comes up all the time is that many people are really keen to be creative but very nervous about starting. That is perfectly normal as we live in a society which frankly is a bit judgemental.

My plan is to share my journey and process, hopefully inspire some and encourage many to have a go. I work in a variety of styles and mediums so hopefully there will be lots of variety.
