I wanted to share the process from start to finish of how I do my portraits as there are many stages which can look odd or do not make sense and I think it is so important to explain each stage for anyone who is scared of having a go. I have progressed onto doing portraits of pets in the last few months after doing a portrait of our beloved Bruce and being asked why I did not do more pet portraits and I just did not have a good reason why not! I start the process with a monoprint. It seems to be a way of working which I find makes me more sketchy and free than if I work in just pencil on paper.
